19th Asia Conference on Occupational Health 17-19 September 2008 Suntec Singapore
Globalization affects virtually every person around the world and all
aspects of life, especially an individual's working environment. New
technologies, forms of work and work organizations are introduced with
globalization. The workforce has to adapt with new skills, growing
mobility and ever-changing work schedules. In addition to old and
prevalent problems, such as traumatic injury, respiratory disease,
occupational deramitis and muscolo-skeletal injury, workers now also
face new hazards some of which are also transboundary. All these pose
challenges to occupational health and safety management and health and
safety services.
The 19th ACOH conference will provide an excellent forum for all OSH
practitioners to come together to redefine their roles and adopt
innovative approaches in the face of globalization.
